Baby Yamane

Are we really just ONE MONTH away from your first birthday?!?!  I am baffled.  How did we get here already?

You are walking 8 steps at your own initiation.  You start at the wall or the couch and go just as far as you are comfortable with and then sit down.  You are still very careful and don’t try more than will keep you safe.  You still use your arms as balance and they either point up or out in front of you.  Your steps are a little bit German soldier, a little bit drunken sailor.

Your words have stayed about the same with Dada, Dog (Da) and Mama.  At this point in the game, dog is very common, as you scream it out accompanied by excessive foot kicking whenever you see one.  You L O V E dogs of all shapes and sizes.

As far as your book preferences, you sit the most still for the faces of babies.  You know have a “global babies” book that keeps you very still.  You have also gotten into the Touch and Feel books, figuring out the appropriate area to touch.  I think your tiny first finger doing this motion is freaking adorable.

Grandma Song was here most of the month helping care for you so you ate lots and lots of food and didn’t get any on you   I’m pretty sure you gained weight this month.  Good job Gramma !

Gramma also taught you to point to your eye, to lift your hands when getting into your eating seat, and to ‘Love’ (which is the full cuddle of any lucky stuffed animal, or her )  Gramma was also working on teaching you to blow out a candle, but you only drooled on it.

You are still amused at hiding games.  You also laugh when things are different (Hats, sunglasses, toys on heads, etc…)  You are also developing a “crazy hour” to replace the newborn witching hour.  After dinner and before bath time you go nuts.  Bouncing all over the room, laughing, pulling all your books off the shelf, shaking your head, dancing, whatever.  It is awe-inspiring.

Your have 6 teeth all in and showing themselves.  Your smile has completely changed.  It makes you seem so very much older.

Your dad and I are having so much fun with you.  We look forward to our free time to be with you and talk about how it was after you are asleep.  We are so happy you are ours.
